Kenneth Jura Obudho
Journalist by training,
storyteller by trade
Twelve years of communications work for government, NGOs and the private sector, across 29 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Nairobi is home.
The short version
Easy to work with.
Stubborn about the story.
I'm a Pan-Africanist, multilingual communicator. I use storytelling to reach very different audiences, and above all to amplify and dignify the voices of communities that usually get talked about rather than talked with. That work has shifted real community engagement and real policy, most visibly on the Voice and Voices for Just Climate Action programmes at Hivos and Oxfam.
The combination is unusual: senior communications experience, facilitation, and genuinely multilingual, multicultural practice. I can sit in a strategy meeting with senior leaders, build the campaign, and talk to international media. Then I can go into the field and tell the story myself, on camera or on the page.
I manage and mentor teams of up to twelve, often matrixed and cross-cultural. Over 90% of them have renewed or extended their contracts. I take that as the more honest measure.
